Spoiler: She doesn’t.

Local woman Andrea Smith, 31, has updated her calendar to include the upcoming autumnal equinox as if she has a special little plan for that day even though she absolutely doesn’t, sources say. Additional entries are few and far between, indicating sparing use of the calendar in general.

Friends say this sort of dishonesty is normal for Ms. Smith. “I saw Andrea write the words ‘Aviation History Month’ at the top of October’s page last year, and she can’t tell a 747 from a 7–11 [store],” says one. “It’s performative. She just lives her life like normal that month, so why mark it in the calendar? I didn’t see her congratulating pilots or even looking up.”

Investigators are believed to be asking why Ms. Smith updated her calendar at all, given that she has no social or professional events of any kind coming up, let alone some kind of cute, non-appropriative quasi-spooky harvest moon jamboree that would require extensive planning, education and financial commitment (of which there is no evidence).

“I don’t think she even knows what it is,” says a person close to Ms. Smith. “She just wants to say ‘autumnal equinox’. Let’s face it, that’s a fun thing to say.”
