Trump Loves Madlibs, Thinks It Makes Liberals Mad

“For a verb, he just wrote the word big twice”, says a patron of Mar-A-Lago who saw a page from President Donald Trump’s recently completed Madlibs. Trump is said to be utterly transfixed by the game, which he believes enrages liberals.

The wacky word game, designed in 1953 by Leonard Stern and Roger Price, is seeing a resurgence among conservative commentators, many of whom speak to the president nightly. Tucker Carlson is creating his own “Only Racial Slurs” edition of the game, and Sean Hannity has hocked the product on his show as a way to antagonize what he calls the “woke left”.

“What part of the words [sic] Madlibs don’t I understand?” began a recent monologue.

Elsewhere in the leaked Cool Mad Libs pages, Trump simply leaves his signature instead of choosing amusing words to complete the sentences. “It’s sort of funny as a piece of outsider art, or as a comment on post-truth society,” says White House Correspondent Thomas Fondue. “But I don’t think that’s intentional.”

Ivanka Trump is reportedly encouraging her father to play the game as often as possible. “They tried [giving the President] sudoku puzzles, but he doesn’t do numbers” says a source close to the First Family. “But the doctors said he had to do something.”

Settling on Madlibs was a stroke of genius, says a Trump advisor who declined to go on the record praising Trump’s stroke of genius. “We just showed him the cover and before we could even explain it, he’d ordered ten thousand of them,” says the source.

With the President’s endorsement, sales of the game have skyrocketed. The move could have political consequences: one pollster who works frequently with the Trump campaign is concerned about the game’s effect on voters. “We’ve accidentally given the MAGA people grammar lessons, which could push them away from the movement entirely.”
