Russian Opposition Leader Doused With Mysterious Chemical At Kids’ Choice Awards
LOS ANGELES — The Russian opposition leader Aleksei A. Navalny was covered in an unknown and potentially life-threatening chemical shortly after presenting the award for “Best YouTube Pet” at the Kids’ Choice Awards. Doctors have placed Navalny and Snowball — the winning gerbil who was on stage to accept the award at the time of the attack — into medically induced comas.
Though the perpetrators of the attack have not been identified, international reaction has been swift. “We must stand up against chemical warfare and the criminals that make use of it,” said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. “It is inhumane.
