I, Tom Brady, Am Retiring From Family To Spend More Time With Football
To my dear wife, children, parents, siblings and extended family —
Tom (Dad) here. If you found this note, you are probably wondering where I am.
But first I want you to know how grateful I am for your support over the years.
While I know many of you are still savoring my most recent victory, I wanted to let you know something before anyone else does:
I am, effective immediately, retiring from family to spend more time with football.
This decision was not easy. Family has been my whole life. In fact, most of my earliest memories are of spending time with my parents. I’ll never forget eating meals together, celebrating birthdays and talking to my siblings about various topics.
I am proud of what I have achieved off the field. I have a beautiful and brilliant wife and children I love dearly. But the time has come for me to make a change. I fear I will lose time with football, precious time that can’t be gotten back. When I look back on my life I want to know that I gave football my all, and that my love of family did not keep me from absolutely dominating the sport for five, maybe six decades if I only eat radishes or something.
In the coming days you may wonder where I have gone. Rest assured that, while I will no longer attend family gatherings, help with your homework or answer the phone when you call, you are never far from my thoughts unless I have a big game or regular practice or I’m reviewing tape or stretching.
God bless you.
God bless America.
Sincerely,
Tom Brady (single now)
